Your HiLux runs the 2.8L 1GD-FTV turbo-diesel (and the earlier 2.4L and 3.0L D-4D), with a manufacturer service interval of every 10,000km or 6 months. We service to that schedule using correct-specification oil and filters, and we stamp your logbook every time — so your new-car warranty stays fully intact under Australian Consumer Law.
What we watch for on the HiLux
- DPF regeneration — HiLuxes doing short suburban runs often never complete a burn cycle, so soot builds up. We check DPF status at every service and clean it before it becomes a replacement.
- Injector seals and intake carbon — the 1GD is known for injector seal weep and carbon build-up. Caught early these are cheap; ignored they are not.
- Towing and tray loads — if yours tows or carries weight, brakes, coolant and transmission fluid wear faster than the book assumes. We check them against how you actually use it.
