Family Fleet Servicing — Cranbourne West
Five or more cars in one household? Bring the whole driveway to one workshop and we’ll talk about price properly. There’s also a prepaid oil & filter change at a flat rate per car — $199 incl. GST for most cars, $299 incl. GST for European. That figure covers the oil and the oil filter and nothing else, and we say so upfront.
Engine oil costs have risen worldwide — our prices reflect current oil costs, and every job is quoted in writing first.

David C. · Google review“The team here are exceptional. Great work all round. Will help you with anything. They’re very good in fixing all cars not just Mercedes.”
Craig · Google review“They were professional, honest, and clearly know their stuff. They took the time to explain everything in a way that made sense and didn’t try to upsell anything unnecessary.”
Vicky R. · Google reviewTwo ways to do this
Most families with a full driveway are paying five different workshops five different prices, and nobody has the full picture of any of the cars. We’d rather look after the lot. There are two ways to go about it, and they suit different situations.
1. Prepaid oil & filter change — $199 per car ($299 European)
A flat, prepaid rate per car, paid up front, for every car in the household. It is deliberately simple:
- What it covers: engine oil to the correct manufacturer specification, and a new oil filter. That is the whole list.
- What it does not cover: everything else. Air filter, cabin filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, brake fluid, coolant, transmission service, brakes, tyres, wipers, batteries, diagnostics, roadworthy — all extra, and all quoted in writing and approved by you before we touch anything.
- European cars are $299 because correct-specification oil (MB 229.5x, VW 504.00, BMW LL-04) costs roughly double, and European engines typically hold 7–9 litres against 4–5 for most others. We’d rather charge the real number than pretend a Mercedes and a Corolla cost the same to fill.
2. Five or more cars — let’s talk
Once a household is running five or more vehicles through us, we’ll sit down and work out a rate across the whole lot — full logbook servicing, not just oil changes. There’s no fixed table for this and we’re not going to invent one, because it depends on what the cars actually are, how they’re driven, and how much of the work you want us doing. Call Patrick or Leon on 03 8782 0711 and we’ll give you a straight number.
An oil change is not a logbook service
We want to be blunt about this, because it matters and most places selling cheap oil changes are quiet about it.
The prepaid oil & filter change is not a logbook service and will not keep a new-car warranty intact. If your car is still inside its manufacturer warranty period, it needs the full scheduled service for that interval — every item the manufacturer specifies, stamped in the logbook. Under Australian Consumer Law you are free to have that done by an independent workshop like us rather than a dealer, and it will not void your warranty. But it has to be the full service, not an oil change.
So the prepaid rate is the right choice for the older cars in the driveway — the ones out of warranty, doing school runs and short trips, where clean oil is doing most of the work. For anything still under warranty, or due a major interval, book a full logbook service instead. If you’re not sure which car is which, bring us the logbooks and we’ll tell you honestly.
One more thing worth saying: if we pull the drain plug and find something genuinely unsafe — a brake line, a torn CV boot, a tyre down to the canvas — we will tell you. We won’t fix it without your say-so, and we won’t pretend we didn’t see it.
Three things we’re upfront about
1. It’s paid upfront, for every vehicle, and it’s locked in
The family rate applies to the vehicles you declare and pay for in advance. We don’t set a discount off a spoken number of cars and hope the rest turn up — that isn’t us being difficult, it’s the only way a genuine multi-car rate works. The cars go on the list, the list gets paid, and the rate is locked in for all of them. If you add another car later, we’ll add it to the arrangement then.
2. We don’t quote repairs over the phone
A scheduled service is a known job and we’ll give you that price on the phone happily. A repair is not. We won’t guess at a fault from a description — the car needs to be at the workshop. A phone estimate is either too high, and you go elsewhere for no reason, or too low, and we have to ring you back with worse news than we started with. Neither of those is fair on you, so we don’t do it.
3. We don’t work off another workshop’s diagnosis
If someone else has already told you what’s wrong, bring that with you — we’ll listen to it. Then we do our own diagnostic work before we quote or replace a single part. We’re the ones warranting the repair, so the finding has to be ours. That means diagnostics is charged for our time — from $374 incl. GST with a two-hour minimum — and it is not a free quote. Any repair that follows is quoted separately in writing.
What you actually get out of it
- One place that knows all your cars. Service history in one system means we spot the pattern — the car that’s drinking oil, the one whose brakes always go early because it does the hill run.
- One conversation about timing. We can stagger the driveway so you’re never without a car, instead of five separate bookings you have to remember.
- Fixed written pricing on everything. Same as every other job we do. You get the number before we start, not after.
- RACV-accredited, all makes. The Euro cars and the everyday cars go through the same workshop — we’re Mercedes-first specialists but we service everything.
Running vehicles under a business name instead? That’s our fleet servicing programme — tiered per-vehicle pricing, one account and 30-day invoicing.
Families on our workshop
“Leon explained everything clearly, and there were no unexpected costs. The car was returned clean and on time.”
Sheeja P. · Google review“My clutch burnt out on a Friday morning on my way to work. After having it towed to Startech Prestige, Leon and his hardworking staff (who were very kind and helpful) had fixed my car and had it ready for me to pickup by Monday.”
Tom C. · Google review“Usually when I receive a call from the Mercedes dealership, it involves multiple things needing to be replaced with costs in the thousands. Leon was extremely honest stating that I don’t need the items replaced like I was told by the dealership on my 5 year service.”
Pribs · Google reviewFamily Fleet Servicing — FAQ
Do all the cars have to be registered to the same person?
No. Same household is enough — partners, adult kids living at home, whoever’s cars are in the driveway. We just need them all coming to us.
What exactly does the $199 prepaid rate include?
Engine oil to your car’s correct specification, and a new oil filter. Nothing else. Any other filter, fluid, part or check is quoted separately in writing before we do it.
Why are European cars $299?
Correct-spec European oil costs roughly double per litre, and European engines usually hold 7–9 litres where most other cars hold 4–5. The $299 covers that real difference — it isn’t a surcharge for the badge.
Will the prepaid oil change keep my new car’s warranty valid?
No. An oil and filter change is not a logbook service. If the car is under manufacturer warranty it needs the complete scheduled service for that interval, stamped in the logbook. We do those too — and having us do it instead of a dealer does not void your warranty under Australian Consumer Law.
What discount do I get for five or more cars?
We negotiate it with you rather than publishing a table, because it depends on what the cars are and how much of the work you want us doing. Call us and we’ll give you a real number.
Do I have to pay for all the cars upfront?
Yes — the family rate applies to the vehicles you declare and pay for in advance, and it’s locked in once that’s done. We don’t set a rate off a spoken number of cars.
Can you give me a price over the phone?
For a scheduled service, yes. For a repair, no — the car needs to be at the workshop. We don’t guess at faults from a description.
Another mechanic already diagnosed it. Can you just do the work?
We’ll listen to what you were told, then do our own diagnostic work before quoting or replacing anything. We warrant the repair, so the finding has to be ours. Diagnostics is from $374 incl. GST, two-hour minimum.
Can I prepay for some cars and not others?
Yes. Plenty of households prepay the older cars for oil changes and book the newer ones in for full logbook servicing. That’s usually the sensible split.
Where are you?
