Looking for an RACV-accredited workshop in Junction Village?

Worth knowing: RACV doesn’t send anyone out to inspect your car. It accredits workshops against its standards and publishes the ones that qualify as RACV-Accredited Auto Care Centres, and whichever workshop you book carries out the actual inspection. We hold that accreditation, and our own team does every Junction Village job.

That means our price sits on the page rather than behind a phone call — $460 incl. GST mobile, $395 at Cranbourne West — booked online rather than negotiated. It also means we travel to Junction Village, so a car you don’t own yet doesn’t have to leave. RACV members should check with RACV directly on what membership benefits apply; that’s theirs to confirm.

Buying from someone you know

Junction Village is small and tight-knit, and a good share of the cars that change hands there are sold between neighbours, family or workmates. That is usually a good way to buy a car. It is also the situation where people skip the inspection, because asking for one feels like an accusation.

An independent report takes that awkwardness out of it. We are not on either side: we write down what the car is, the seller finds out too, and nobody has to negotiate on a hunch. It also protects the seller — if the car is sound, they have proof, and the sale stops being a favour that could sour later. Will asking for an inspection offend the seller?

In our experience, rarely. Most private sellers want the sale to be clean and final. A written report protects them as much as you — it ends the conversation about what the car might be hiding.

Can the seller be there while you inspect it?

Yes, and usually they are, since somebody needs to hold the keys. The report goes to you as our customer, not to them.
