School-run electric: the quiet wear pattern
The Ridge’s EV day is short hops — school, shops, sport — on regen braking the whole way. Friction brakes barely move for weeks, which rusts discs instead of wearing pads; two tonnes of instant torque quietly eats front tyres; and the 12-volt cycles hard on a car that’s always warming or cooling a cabin full of kids. All three are inspection items, all three are in the written report.
What the flat $400 buys
Tyres measured and rotated, discs and sliders properly inspected, both coolant circuits checked, cabin filter (the pollen out here is real), 12-volt load-tested, software currency confirmed, and the state-of-health figure recorded where the platform reports it. Anything more — and it’s rare — is quoted in writing before it happens.

Not mechanically — but midday top-ups to moderate levels are gentle on any chemistry. What suburbia does change is brake and tyre wear patterns, which is why the inspection matters more than the odometer suggests.
Not for the EV itself, not yet. A hybrid or EV roadworthy needs a tester holding Victoria’s EV testing category — our accreditation doesn’t currently cover it, so those certificates aren’t available from us just yet. EV and hybrid servicing here is unaffected. If the trade-in car you’re handing back is petrol or diesel, that roadworthy is $330 flat as always.
