Switching Workshops

Changing Mechanics: What to Bring, What to Expect

Leaving a workshop feels harder than it is. Here is the entire process — it takes one visit.

The Move

One visit, nothing lost

People stay with underwhelming workshops for years because switching feels like starting over. It is not: your car carries most of its own history electronically — service records, fault memories, the real state of its schedule — and we read all of it at the first visit with dealer-level scan tooling. Paper helps too: bring the logbook and any invoices you have. Gaps are normal; we reconstruct the schedule from the car and the kilometres, note the catch-up honestly, and the record continues unbroken from here.

What changes on day one: the price is fixed in writing before any work, findings are quoted for your approval rather than appearing on the invoice, the logbook is stamped for exactly what was done, and anything we recommend comes with the reason attached. That is the entire onboarding. From $349 incl. GST for logbook servicing; European makes a $500 base rate on their own schedules — anything past oil, filter and the health check approved with you by phone first.

FAQ

No – there is no lock-in, no records to release, no notice period. Book here; done.

Mostly no: the car’s electronic records plus your invoices rebuild it. We can also supply a replacement service book and stamp forward from a documented baseline.

We read their notes with respect and verify with our own eyes – which protects you both ways: real findings get fixed, padded lists get retired.
