Audi Out of Warranty: The Honest Playbook

The warranty years trained you to default to the dealer. The years after reward a different habit.

The Shift

Same schedules, free choice

An out-of-warranty Audi still runs its LongLife or fixed schedule, still requires 504.00/507.00-approved oil, still wants its service record kept electronically. We do all of it — with dealer-level scan tooling and access to genuine parts — from $500 incl. GST for logbook servicing, priced in writing per interval before work starts.

And the item that matters most on many Audis: the DSG service, quoted in writing for your exact gearbox. Skipped DSG fluid is the classic out-of-warranty Audi mistake — cheap to keep, expensive to neglect.

Worth Knowing

It was never dealer-or-nothing

Under Australian Consumer Law and ACCC guidance, a manufacturer’s warranty stays valid when the car is serviced by a qualified workshop to the manufacturer’s schedule with appropriate-quality parts. That was true during the warranty too; after it, the choice is purely about who does the better job at the better price — and being 22 years in the marque group, we like our odds on both.

StarTech Prestige is an independent workshop, not affiliated with or authorised by Audi AG, Volkswagen AG or their dealer networks. Marque names describe the vehicles we service.
