We service the Toyota LandCruiser Prado across the 2.8L 1GD-FTV turbo-diesel (150 and 250 Series) and the earlier 3.0L D-4D. Toyota schedules the Prado diesel at 6 months or 10,000km, whichever comes first — twice a year for most owners, the same short interval as the HiLux.
Every service uses correct-specification oil and filters, covers every item the manufacturer lists for that interval, and finishes with a road test and a stamped logbook.
What we watch for on the Toyota LandCruiser Prado
- DPF and regeneration. Prados that tow or do short school runs are the ones that block filters. We check DPF status at every service and act before it becomes a replacement.
- Injector seals and intake carbon. The 1GD is known for injector seal weep and carbon build-up in the intake. Caught early these are inexpensive.
- Touring loads. If yours carries a roof rack, a canopy or a van on the back, brakes, coolant and transmission fluid wear faster than the book assumes. We check against how you actually use it.
