Inspecting a Private-Sale Car Without the Awkwardness

Private sellers aren’t villains — but they aren’t mechanics either. Here is how the inspection works when the car lives in someone’s driveway.

How It Works

We handle the seller, you keep the leverage

You give us the seller’s number from the ad; we call them, arrange access, and come to the car ($460 incl. GST mobile, anywhere in the south-east) or they drop it to us ($395 workshop). The report comes to you alone — never to the seller, never to the person who dropped the car off. That is policy, because the report is your negotiating position.

Most sellers cooperate readily; honest ones often welcome it. A seller who stalls, reschedules repeatedly, or insists on being present for every second has told you something useful for free.
