Serviced to the schedule, properly
We service the Kia Cerato across the 2.0L MPI and Nu GDI petrol engines and the 1.6L turbo. Kia schedules the Cerato at 12 months or 15,000km, whichever comes first.
Every service uses correct-specification oil and filters, covers every item the manufacturer lists for that interval, and finishes with a road test and a stamped logbook.
What we watch for on the Kia Cerato
- Carbon on GDI engines. Direct-injected Ceratos build carbon on the intake valves. We check for the symptoms rather than waiting for a fault code.
- Oil level between services. Some engines use more oil than owners expect. We show you where the dipstick sat when it came in.
- Front suspension and steering noise. Clunks and rattles from the front are common as the car ages and will fail a roadworthy.
Anything we find beyond the scheduled service is quoted in writing and approved by you before we touch it. If it can wait, we say so. Seeing a specific symptom? Read our common Kia Cerato problems guide.
We price the car in front of us
Two things we do differently, and we would rather tell you now than when you ring.
- We don’t give prices over the phone. Not for repairs. We can tell you what a scheduled service costs because that is a known job, but we will not guess at a repair from a description. The car needs to be here. A guess over the phone is either too high and you walk away, or too low and we have to ring you back with bad news — neither is fair on you.
- We don’t work off another workshop’s diagnosis. If someone else has told you what is wrong, we will listen, and then we will do our own diagnostic work before we quote or replace anything. We are the ones warranting the repair, so it has to be our finding. That means diagnostics is charged for our time — from $374, two-hour minimum — and it is not a free quote.
Once we have found the fault, you get a fixed written price and nothing happens until you approve it.
Kia Cerato Service — FAQ
How much does a Kia Cerato service cost?
Our Kia Cerato logbook servicing starts at $349 incl. GST. The exact figure depends on which scheduled interval your car is due for, and you get it in writing before we start any work.
How often does a Kia Cerato need servicing?
Kia schedules the Cerato at 12 months or 15,000km, whichever comes first.
Will servicing outside a dealer void my warranty?
No. Under Australian Consumer Law you can have scheduled servicing done by any qualified independent workshop, provided the correct work is carried out to specification and the logbook is stamped. We do both.
Can you tell me over the phone what a repair will cost?
No. We price the car in front of us. We can quote a scheduled service because that is a known job, but we will not guess at a repair from a description – the car needs to be at the workshop.
Do you use genuine parts?
We fit genuine where it matters or where you ask for it, and quality OEM-equivalent where that is the sensible choice. We tell you which is going in and what the difference is.
