How to run a digital vehicle inspection, step by step
The workflow below is how inspections run in our own workshop — each step exists because skipping it costs money or trust.
The Steps
Bay to customer in five moves
1. Open against the vehicle
The inspection starts attached to the car’s record — history visible, so the tech knows what was flagged last time.
2. Capture panel by panel
Guided order, finding by finding — scan, voice, photo or type. Autosave means a dropped phone doesn’t cost the last hour.
3. Evidence at the source
Photograph the wear as you find it. The photo lives with the finding, not in a camera roll.
4. Review the draft
AI assembles the plain-English draft with priorities. The service advisor edits it — nothing unverified reaches a customer.
5. Send, record, follow up
The customer gets a readable report; the vehicle record keeps it. Next visit starts from what was recommended today.
