Buying an Ex-Rental? Read This First

Nobody ever returned a rental gently. Some still make excellent buys — the inspection sorts which.

The Honest Case

Cheap for a reason; sometimes still worth it

Ex-rentals price low because everyone knows how rentals get driven — cold-start flogging, kerbed wheels, hundred-driver clutches. But they are also young, base-spec honest, and serviced on rigid schedules. The spread between a good ex-rental and a bad one is wider than any other used category, and the price rarely tells you which end you are holding.

The inspection does: driveline and clutch wear, kerb-strike evidence in wheels and alignment, interior wear against claimed kilometres, paint depth where repairs hide. $395 workshop / $460 mobile, written report, and a verdict in plain words: this one, or not this one.
