About the Formentor
The SEAT Formentor (KM) runs the same VAG engines and DSG gearboxes we work on every day across VW, Audi and Skoda. Looked after with the right oils, it’s sporty, sensible ownership — and we keep it running for far less than the dealer.
As a performance Cupra it works its engine and DSG harder, so correct oil, sensible intervals and the DSG service matter more.
Common Formentor problems
The issues we see most on the Formentor: carbon build-up on the hard-worked turbo engines, the DSG fluid service, the AWD/haldex fluid, brakes and tyres under hard use, and oil consumption. All are normal for the model and far cheaper to catch early.
We use dealer-level VAG diagnostics, the correct VAG-spec oils and genuine-quality parts, and never skip the DSG fluid service.
