12 things to check before you buy inspection software
Whichever platform you choose — ours or anyone’s — these are the checks that separate software that gets used from software that gets abandoned by week three.
Ask these of every vendor
1–3: Capture
Can a technician record a finding without typing? Does it survive a dropped connection (autosave)? Does it work on the phones your team already has?
4–6: Reports
Would your mother understand the report? Are priorities explicit? Is photo evidence attached beside each recommendation?
7–9: People
Are staff seats unlimited or a per-head tax? Is there a view for the bay, the desk and the owner? Who verifies AI output before a customer sees it?
10–12: Business
Is pricing public? Can you trial it on real jobs? What happens to your data and history if you leave?
How PrestigeOS scores itself
We built PrestigeOS against this exact list inside our own workshop: every capture mode is typing-optional, autosave is standard, staff are unlimited, AI output is always staff-verified, and pricing is public. Judge it on the trial, on your own jobs. PrestigeOS pricing is public: Founder $200/month + GST (500 AI generations a month — the app’s published founding offer is limited to 10 workshops and closes 31 August 2026 or when the places are claimed), Growth $599/month + GST (1,500 AI generations) and Scale $999/month + GST (4,000 AI generations). Every plan has the full feature set, unlimited staff and mobile + desktop access, and every plan starts with a 14-day free trial — current pricing always lives at app.startechprestige.com.au/plans.
