Lift the wiper arm away from the glass until it locks, note how the old blade attaches (most are a hook or press-tab fitting), release it, and click the new one on until it locks. Lower the arm gently — never let it snap back onto bare glass.
Buy the correct length and fitting for your exact car (they differ side to side), and lay a towel on the glass while you work in case the arm slips.
The catches to know
Many European cars use specific bayonet or side-pin fittings and some park the wipers under the bonnet lip — they need a “service position” (usually via the wiper stalk with ignition on) before the arms will lift. Forcing them bends the arms.
