The body control module is the computer behind lights, wipers, central locking, windows, alarm and interior electrics — reading switches and commanding the loads over the car’s network rather than through fat bundles of dedicated wires.
It’s why one module fault can produce a weird constellation of unrelated-looking symptoms.
